Today we are going to go over a tool for measuring the serving sizes for YOUR food and nutrient needs. There are two things that make this tool so great. 1. there's no math involved;  AND... 2. it's a tool that you always-have-with-you!

Portion control is key in monitoring your caloric intake. Let's be honest, no one is going to carry around them measuring cups or spoons, right? So what's the best way on a daily meal-to-meal basis to monitor the serving size portions that you're consuming?

Believe it or not, it's your hand!  

What's so great about using your hand as a serving size guide is that your hand is proportionate to your body and the number of servings that you have for each food group is partially guided by your gender, height and weight which makes your hand the perfect tool for providing you a ballpark measure for YOUR serving size proportions...

Here's how it works...

1. Your Palm: is a serving size of protein;
2. Your Fist: a serving size of vegetables;
3. A Cupped Hand: is a serving size of carbohydrates; and finally
4. Your Thumb is your serving size of fats.
